CREATE, the album born from the collaboration between double bassist Marco Marzola and legendary guitarist Ed Cherry.

Alongside the reinterpretation of some famous selected melodies from the broader international jazz landscape (from Davis to Ellington, from Gillespie to Mitchell), among the ten tracks that make up the album, there are also compositions by Marzola himself (Prince) and Cherry (Mogadishu and The Spirits Speak). Completing the quartet are Oscar Marchioni on organ and electric piano, and Donato Cimaglia on drums.

MARCO MARZOLA
Sideman and band leader, Marco Marzola began his artistic training at the Ferrara Conservatory, and captivated by jazz at a young age, he moved to New York to further his studies with Barry Harris and Buster Williams. Now based in London, he continuously collaborates with musicians from the international jazz scene throughout Europe, performing at Jazz Festivals and Jazz Clubs. As a band leader, he has released several albums featuring acclaimed guests such as Steve Turre, Sherman Irby, Akua Dixon, Darrel Green, Dion Parson, and others.

ED CHERRY
American jazz guitarist, Cherry is best known for his long collaboration with trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, with whom he performed from 1978 until shortly before Gillespie's death in 1993. Since then, he has collaborated with Paquito D'Rivera, Jon Faddis, John Patton, Hamiet Bluiett, Henry Threadgill, Paula West, and has also recorded numerous albums as a leader.
