From Rome, lounge and nu-jazz icon Papik, a groove architect followed around the world for his themed reinterpretations, encouraged by Parisian Kelly Joyce (best known for the international success of "Vivre la vie"), takes on the challenge of dismantling and reassembling vintage French music. The result is an album that brings together some of the most iconic French traditional songs from the 1950s and 1960s, tracks whose titles may sometimes be indifferent to many but whose melodies are intrinsic to everyone's memories. Kelly Joyce and Papik thus compare the two parallel realities of a particularly flourishing historical period for art and music in particular. The soul of the "Yé-Yé" movement is thus stitched together in Rome through the contaminations of the "Dolce Vita." Rome versus Paris, Rimini versus Saint-Tropez. The two artists make an aesthetic pact, combining refinement and boldness for a popular and sophisticated album, a journey that crosses the boulevards of Paris and the terraces of Rome, the velvet of the clubs and the sand of the beaches of Romagna, without the need for translation.
